Certifying Key Roles in Hybrid Cloud

Certifying Key Roles in Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud is the most common cloud approach enterprises are adopting today. So we took the opportunity to apply role-based certifications to a hybrid cloud strategy. The graphic illustrates the benefits of a unified, role-based, vendor-neutral certification scheme which adapts itself to various strategies.

These are the key roles for successful hybrid cloud adoption and the related certifications to ensure the IT team is up to speed and on the same page.

Database professionals are able to filter out business critical data from the data overload we have today. A Big Data Foundation certified professional is equipped with a complete understanding of Big Data.  Practical exercises also provide some hands-on experience in using two of the most popular technologies in data processing – Hadoop and MongoDB. For additional cloud and business savvy, double-up with a Cloud Technology Associate certification.

Software developers are no longer just pushing code, they are pivotal to the user experience and therein the successful user adoption of cloud solutions. The Professional Cloud Developer (PCD) complements the technical skills of developers with best practices on application design for cloud environments, and an introduction to the various technology vendors and their standards, along the entire application lifecycle.

Information security managers appreciate the risks involved with business data. The best information security professionals are able to integrate this in discussions across the organization (at all levels) to align key stakeholders in positions to invest in and implement security measures. The CCC Professional Cloud Security Manager certification enables security professionals to affirm their knowledge and skills, and translate this to the complex cloud-based infrastructure.

Enterprise architects , all architects, are at a point where their skills need to adapt to cloud computing and hybrid cloud environments. Companies are avoiding working with ad hoc systems implementations, thus architects who understand cloud computing and all its service models are in high demand. However, few have the prerequisite skills to design a scalable and sustainable cloud infrastructure which optimizes the use of private and public cloud. The Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA) certification is designed for the experienced enterprise architect moving into cloud. The certification aligns well with TOGAF architecture and ITIL service management best practices.

Business managers working in cloud need to understand the technical infrastructure in addition to business strategy to truly succeed with adopting the benefits of cloud computing to drive their objectives. Cloud Technology Associate (CTA) certified managers, and technically focused IT professionals, can benefit from a balanced perspective on the technical and business aspects of cloud computing. The CTA certification delivers a comprehensive understanding of cloud technology and the inherent complexities in applying it to the business.

Depending on your organization, you may need qualified service managers and administrators to maintain the infrastructure. The Professional Cloud Service Manager (PCSM) and Professional Cloud Administrator (PCA) certification from the CCC complete the set of critical roles in cloud computing overall.
